My name is Tami Toledo Matuoka (Tami TM), and I was born into a family of music and poetry in Brazil, where I came into contact with the arts at an early age. From the time I could speak, I was already helping my parents organize concerts, poetry readings, and cultural events. My passion for music and the arts, combined with my organizational skills, has been a constant presence from the beginning.

I pursued my formal education in Communication Management with a specialization in Public Relations at the University of São Paulo, one of the most respected institutions in Latin America.

In 2006, I began my professional career in the international music scene as a producer at Plataforma Brasil Holanda (Platform Brazil–Netherlands), an organization dedicated to promoting and producing Dutch artists in Brazil. During this time, I produced concerts across Brazil for renowned artists such as Han Bennink, Benjamin Herman, Ernst Reijseger, Corrie van Binsbergen, Josee Koning, Martin Fondse, Mike del Ferro, and Jan Akkerman, among others.

After several years of international production work in Brazil, I relocated from São Paulo to Amsterdam, where I founded my own booking agency and production company, Tami TM. I’ve been based in the Netherlands for over 12 years, and have since worked extensively as a producer, tour manager, PR manager, and mentor for a wide range of artists from around the world.

Over the years, I have produced hundreds of concerts and tours in more than 20 countries, including performances at SummerStage – Central Park, New York, and Rock in Rio. I’ve also represented artists at key industry events, including WOMEX, Babel Med, JazzAhead, Beirut & Beyond, Fira Mediterrània, and the European Jazz Conference.

Since 2013, I have worked as the international booking agent, tour manager, and producer for Brazilian pop star Lenine (winner of 6 Latin Grammys) with the project The Bridge. In 2017, this collaborative project won the 28º Prêmio da Música Brasileira.

Over time, I developed a deep passion for mentorship and education. I’ve mentored over 600 renowned, emerging musicians and conservatory students worldwide, both independently and through organizations such as Amarte Fonds, Cultuur+Ondernemen, and the Keep an Eye Foundation.

My international masterclass, “Navigating the Contemporary Music Industry,” has taken me around the globe, including collaborations with organizations in Poland, Norway, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, UK, Mexico, etc.

In 2023, I joined the BIMHUIS team as Project Manager for Better Live, a Creative Europe-funded initiative that promotes a fair, green, and inclusive transformation of the live music sector, while supporting the international mobility of artists.

In 2024, I became part of the mentoring team for hothouse, a career development program by the Manchester Jazz Festival in the UK.

Alongside my production and mentorship work, I also work in higher education, currently teaching and coaching at several conservatories in the Netherlands:

• Lecturer at Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU)
• Professional Integration Coach at the Jazz Department of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague
• Guest Lecturer at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA)

And finally, I am now also a concert producer at BIMHUIS, continuing to help make the magic happen on one of Europe’s most important stages for jazz and improvised music.
